Code of Practice

All Storytellers agree to:

Stick to the script and present the story simply, without addition or deviation, following the guidelines in the Open the Book Handbook
Allow each story to speak for itself, as a Bible story, not as a sermon
Liaise closely and sensitively with schools, being mindful of the school’s context and educational environment
Be aware that they are invited guests and make minimal demands on schools
Show respect and sensitivity to those of other faiths and to those with no faith
Fulfil relevant safeguarding requirements as outlined in the Open the Book Safeguarding Policy and Code of Conduct
Attend Open the Book Core Training before going into school for the first time, and then attend refresher training every three years
Always be accompanied by members of staff during all storytelling sessions
Uphold the copyright of Open the Book materials
Keep records of the team and schools up to date with Bible Society

Storytellers must be accompanied by members of staff during all assemblies/acts of collective worship.

Gofynnir i bob arweinydd tîm drafod ein Cod Ymarfer gyda’r tîm. Dylai pob Storïwr gytuno i:

Gadw at y sgript a chyflwyno’r stori’n syml, gan ddilyn canllawiau Llawlyfr Agor y Llyfr.
Caniatáu i bob stori siarad drosti ei hun, fel stori o’r Beibl, nid fel pregeth.
Cysylltu’n agos ac yn sensitif gydag ysgolion, a bod yn ystyriol o gyd-destun ac amgylchedd addysgol yr ysgol.
Cadw mewn cof eu bod yn wahoddedigion gan wneud y galw lleiaf posibl ar yr ysgol
Dangos parch a sensitifrwydd tuag at grefyddau eraill, ac at rai sydd heb ffydd.
Cyflawni’r gofynion diogelu perthnasol fel yr amlinellir y rheini yng Ngweithdrefnau Polisi a Chod Ymarfer Agor y Llyfr.
Mynychu Hyfforddiant Craidd Agor y Llyfr cyn mynd i ysgol am y tro cyntaf, ac yna mynychu hyfforddiant i adnewyddu sgiliau bob tair blynedd
Sicrhau presenoldeb aelod o staff yn ystod pob sesiwn adrodd stori
Cynnal hawlfraint deunydd Agor y Llyfr.
Diweddaru’r cofnod am y tîm yn rheolaidd gyda Cymdeithas y Beibl

Rhaid i aelod o staff fod gyda’r Storïwyr yn ystod pob un Gwasanaeth/Addoliad ar y cyd.
